The most common problems I encounter are Windows computers that have stopped performing at their peak or at all! If it is not a hardware failure than it is due to limitations of the operating system. This is usually the case. There are severe security problems. Windows is the only Operating System that is plagued so badly by these problems. Regular maintenance and an arsenal of utilities to combat the lack of internal security is a must for Windows.

One way to correct a Windows computer on the fritz is to have me back up your personal data, reinstall Windows and restore the data. This is a lengthy process and you will be without your computer for a minimum of two days. One of the advantages is that when your computer gets back to you it will function better than the day you bought it.

Trying to “clean up” a Windows computer can be very difficult and time consuming and there are no guarantees. However, depending on the condition it could be a viable option. Each computer is assessed for the best path to take. If a cleanup will work it will cost approximately 1/2 the price of a backup and reinstall.

Other things that can be done to enhance performance are installing more memory and performance tuning the computer. Performance tuning is included in a PC rebuild or cleanup.
